The Pet Companion is the oldest pet sitting service in Jefferson County having been established in 1990. Owned and operated by Lisa Spunich Boyer, Lisa has been around animals all of her life. During college and after graduating she worked in a veterinary hospital where eventually clients' needs for a pet sitter led her to start The Pet Companion.

After 29 years running a pet sitting business, The Pet Companion expanded to also offering quality dog boarding. In October of 2017 a 16 kennel facility was built.
